Placing your order (Stage 1)
We have thousands of items available for sale. To make a purchase, find the item you want by performing a quick search at the top of the page. You can also click the links to any of our departments or browse our sales pages. To purchase an item you will need to "add" it to your shopping cart. The shopping cart keeps track of what's in it, and you can easily add or remove any item at any time. Clicking the "view cart" link will redirect you to a page that lists everything in your cart and shows any eligible discounts, coupon codes, special notes, estimated ship dates and shipping dimensions of items in your shopping cart.   You will need to click on "checkout" upon completion and specify a payment method and shipping options.  We request that you create a user account and complete a few details regarding your name, address, and contact information if you have not already done so.  You may check out as a guest or create an account that will allow you to check order status and see order history.  Standard account profiles offer other advanced features vs a guest account.  You may want to consider a full account to gain access to price monitoring, wishlist and other advanced features not available with a guest account.  We will send you an email once you have submitted an order, which will then be held in a queue until verified or processed.  Be sure to monitor junk or spam folders closely to ensure our email will reach you and ensure we are added to your safe sender's list. Please note that verification and processing will occur during standard business hours.  Shipping and tracking does not occur on weekends or holidays.

Order Verification (Stage 2)
Interac Debit or Interac Email cash transfer transactions are not subject to order verification procedures. Please ensure that all information provided is accurate and that shipping information is detailed. We instantly process orders paid via Interac during standard business hours.
Purchase orders or Cheque orders are not subject to order verification, however our customer service team will need to contact you during business hours to ensure that we have the correct information and to assist with order processing.
All credit card / PayPal / Paybright orders processed on our website are subject to order verification processes that protect you in the event of identity theft and fraud. Our secure servers accept your transactions, however they are not fully processed until we complete the verification process which may include a telephone call or email follow up. Please ensure that you have provided us with a verifiable daytime telephone number along with your order. We will verify these orders between 9am and 5pm EST (Monday to Friday excluding holidays). To expedite your order verification process, please ensure that you have a copy of your order and access to all necessary information that our team may need. All order verification phone calls may be recorded for security purposes and may be monitored for quality assurance programs. We respect your privacy and we want to safely and securely fight fraud. Order verification processes are the only acceptable method to ensure that a third party can never intercept the information you provide to us.  Rest assured that you are buying with privacy and confidence at all times when using our website.

We can easily handle changes or substitutions to your order during your verification phone call.  If you forgot to add that "all important item" no problem, our customer service team will gladly assist you.
Stage 2 processing will also indicate whether an item is back ordered and an ETA will be provided to you during the discussion with the verification team.

Order Processing (Stage 3)
After our processing team has verified your order, you will receive a final "Retail Invoice or Sales Receipt" in PDF format via email indicating:

  • The items you have purchased
  • Shipping method
  • Payment method acceptance
  • and all other relevant information related to your order.
This receipt, will detail any items changed or modified with the order processing team, and provide estimates and warehouse locations for your shipped items.  Please examine this PDF document closely, as it will be the last chance ot make any changes before moving to stage 4.  All orders processed before 2pm EST are usually shipped out the same day.  Still, due to seasonal volume fluctuations, orders may ship the next business day unless you have made special priority shipping arrangements.

In stock at DC, Out of stock, Special order or back order items.
We do not finalize payments until goods are ready to ship.  As an added incentive should you wish to maintain your order, we offer a 30 day price guarantee which keeps your pricing static at time of order submission even in the event of a price increase from the manufacturer. Further, your order priority is maintained while your order is in queue. If the timeline extends beyond 30 days, we will reach out to you directly to discuss any modification to your order. When an ecommerce order is placed on our website with a credit card via www.acclaim-music.com, a payment is received and held.  This is called a preauthorization. If the item is out of stock, the preauthorization will expire and your funds are returned to you in a few business days.  This timeline will be set by your financial institution and we have no control or emphasis on their policy. If a back order item arrives into stock, we can poll the preauthorization and capture the payment manually for visa/mastercard for up to 6 months.  Other payment types can vary (Amex/Paypal/Paybright/Affirm) and may require a new order be submitted after 7 business days. We never bill or finalize orders until goods are ready to ship so that you have full access to your funds for other needs.  Not all companies operate this way, but this is part of our customer service model. If your order was paid via interac or etransfer at time of submission, the same options as described above are available to you and a refund or cancelation will be honoured simply by sending an email or calling us with your name, order details and order reference id.

A pre-authorization (in most cases) will only last a few days depending on your bank.  You might also see the pre-authorization getting reversed for no apparent reason.  This means it has timed out due to extended delivery ETA and our team could not finalize.  Our team will only re-process your payment when goods are ready to ship and will contact you by phone or email to confirm.

Our team can also recommend alternative products. We are more than happy to provide a solution with a product that features a better delivery timeline or better features. We love to help, so please discuss with our team.

Rest assured, any purchase can be easily refunded or cancelled anytime, please let us know.
 
If you wish to keep your order in queue and maintain your priority position, we will gladly assist.  As mentioned above, you are not billed until we have goods that are shippable.  We will follow up with you when goods arrive, or you can contact us anytime for updated information.

Packing and Shipping (Stage 4)
Our warehouse team receives a copy of your order and packs it accordingly.  They ship your order either from our retail warehouse or region specific warehouses depending on the items contained in your order. Our warehouse staff are careful to pack your order in the best manner possible to ensure the items arrive at your door in excellent condition.
**special notice re shipping - Most orders will be shipped with Adult Signature Required.  This may require you to pickup the item at a courier depot in the event a signature cannot be obtained at time of delivery.  Due to the nature of the products we sell, we want to ensure a safe delivery and a happy customer.   Help us prevent porch pirates and items dropped at your door when you are not home by selecting a courier depot option at checkoutBonus - courier depots often get packages faster and with less handling than to your door shipments.
 

Tracking Information (Stage 5)
Note: Shipping and tracking does not occur on weekends or holidays.
Our shipping department will send you an email when your order has been packed and shipped.  This email will be labelled "Invoice" or "Sales Receipt" and includes the tracking information and the shipment date.  Tracking information will be displayed in the email message body. To track your shipment simply visit the courier's website. Some items may be more difficult to track such as LTL or large items shipped via trucking companies. LTL systems only update as items pass thru major terminal points. Drop Shipment: If your item is being shipped from a region specific warehouse we do not have immediate access to their shipping systems.  Still, if you call or email we can gladly respond to your request for tracking information within 24 hours on most business days. Your email message may indicate DROP SHIP when an item is coming from a region specific warehouse or DC (distribution center).  Please note that our region specific warehouses are not open on weekends and we are not able to respond to tracking info requests when they are closed. Tracking information will also be updated in your online account profile in the near future and if you are logged into your account, order status and tracking information will be visible. EFFECTIVE DATE T.B.A.

The Legal Stuff
The advertisements on the site are invitations to make offers to purchase products and services and not offers to sell. We deem acceptance of your order upon emailing you a shipping notice, and at which time forms a legally binding contract with Acclaim Sound and Lighting.


Risk of Loss
Risk of loss and title for items purchased from Acclaim-music.com pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.  If these items cross an internation border, then the risk of loss and title passes to you once they clear customs.  We provide 100% free insurance on orders paid by interac shipped inside Canada.  We offer $100.00 of insured value for other payment types. 

Returns, Refunds and Title
Acclaim-music.com does not take title to returned items until the item arrives at our warehouse or distribution centre. We may issue refunds at our discretion without requiring a return. In this case, Acclaim-music.com does not take title to the refunded item. For more information about our returns and refunds, please see our Returns Policy.

Website Errors
We reserve the right to terminate any order for any reason, including, but not limited to:

  •     Where goods are not available.
  •     Where we cannot obtain payment authorization.
  •     In the event of a pricing or product description error.

We sell many expensive items that need special care.. unlike DVD's or widgets that we can stuff in your mailbox. It's really tough to fit a guitar into a mailbox, and yep, we tried :)  We have discovered that shipments to a depot offer far greater security for our clients and have adopted these locations as the best method possible to get your packages delivered safely, securely and with lowered risk of damage. We don't abandon your packages to freeze on your doorstep when you're not at home and items arrive quicker to the depot than to your address.  We offer safe and secure shipments to the nearest Courier DEPOT for all Canadian customers when the option is selected in the checkout.

Valid Signature Required.
If you paid by credit card, PayPal, or Paybright we may ship to the nearest depot for your security and items may not be left at your doorstep. These payment methods require "proof of delivery" to a verified address and an adult signature.  Canadian orders over $850(including tax) will ship to the nearest courier depot by default.  Doing so ensures that your products arrive safely, the depot can obtain a signature, and items are not abandoned to porch pirates or bad weather when you’re not home.  Small items or order value under $850(including tax) will ship direct and require an adult signature.  Orders to the USA will ship directly to the verified billing address only.  We provide $100.00 of insurance for loss or damage in transit and does not include coverage for porch piracy.  For this reason we recommend adding insurance to ensure a worry-free shipment. Apartment Buildings
Due to high risk of theft, shipments to apartment units are by default sent to the closest courier depot when you place an order via credit card, PayPal, Paybright. If you don't want your shipment sent to depot by default, please consider using interac email transfer or business cheque as your payment method or discuss with our staff as we can make different arrangements for delivery such as shipping to a registered work address.  Interac e-transfer payments allow us to ship to any valid Canadian address you specify including apartments.

Free Shipping Insurance
Orders paid by Interac now qualify for 100% shipping insurance coverage for loss or damage in transit.  Porch piracy coverage is not available.(tip: many homeowner policies and credit cards can offer protection for loss or damage in transit.  Please check with your provider)  For all other payment methods, we automatically provide $100.00 of shipping insurance to every order at no cost. Additional insurance can be requested in the notes area of the final checkout page. Insurance is available in increments of $100.00 and typically equates to 3% - 6% of your order value in additional fees. Our customer service team will provide you with an insurance quote upon request.

Shipping Musical Instruments
All musical instruments undergo a thorough 65 point inspection before shipment with photos of the actual instrument before getting boxed. We typically set them up for a medium action before shipment. Please discuss if you require a different setup with our staff before shipment. Inspection and setup typically add one business day to shipping transit times. We double box most musical instruments, factory carton plus outer shipping carton. If the item includes a hardshell case or hard padded bag upon purchase, these items will ship in either their factory carton or may be combined in the shipping carton containing the musical instrument. We highly recommend purchasing a hardshell case or hard padded gig bag if you are considering a musical instrument purchase. Shipping an instrument inside either case or hard padded pag significantly reduces the risk of damage in transit by almost 99%. We want to ensure you are happy with your product and enclosing it in a suitable case or bag before shipment helps maintain its shape and playability upon arrival. We will gladly assist with a proper case selection if you give us a call or email. Our goal is to put a beautiful instrument in your hands that is playable out of the box.

Oversize/Overweight Definition - See Also: Cubed Shipping Weight
Some items may be deemed oversized due to cubed shipping weight or physical dimensions.  Oversize items are much more expensive to ship.. Some examples include large speakers, digital pianos, fluids sold in case quantity. These items may ship for Free or receive a Free Shipping Allowance based on order value and delivery destination. Due to courier restrictions, some oversize items may only be able to ship to the nearest Freight Depot and Courier options may be limited depending on your location. International / Overseas Shipments
Shipping outside of North America is costly. Typically, these shipping rates are roughly equal to buying a plane ticket. We will gladly provide a shipping quote for you upon request. To determine a shipping cost to your country, use some of the courier websites below to figure out a general shipping cost. We do not accept Credit Cards and PayPal for overseas shipments. Orders must be paid in full using an international wire transfer in advance.
Wood Based Products Shipping outside of Canada- As of Dec. 31, 2021 many products have been affected by the Lacey Act.  All manufactured products containing wood of any species, are no longer eligible to ship outside of Canada.  This change affects many types of musical instruments and products containing wood of any type.  Guitars, drums, drumsticks, and wood based hardshell cases are amongst many products that are affected by new laws aimed at protection of wood species across the globe. If you have a question or a concern regarding a product shipping outside of Canada, please call, email or chat with our team to get more information.

Air Freight/Rush Shipping Services
Rush / Air service is available by selecting the service at checkout or calling us toll-free at 1(888)472-0070. Please follow up with our customer service team by phone upon placing your order if you need it quickly. (Rush / Air service is often 3-10 times more costly than standard ground rates and is optional.) We also offer BPX shipping (Bus Parcel Express), a 12-24 hour delivery time to many parts of Ontario and Quebec. You must request BPX shipments via telephone as this service is not available online.

Delivery ETA (estimated time of arrival)
The date of pickup may vary with courier companies and may affect the delivery timeline. We display estimated delivery timelines on checkout pages provided by each courier and are subject to change during peak seasons such as Christmas, whereby most guarantees will not apply. With guaranteed delivery services such as air service, those with late deliveries can request shipping cost reimbursement, less any discounts applied unless affected by seasonal volumes or other courier restrictions.

All orders will be shipped complete unless you have made other arrangements at the time of order processing.

Estimated delivery times do not include order processing time or musical instrument setup. Estimated delivery times begin on the day you receive your tracking number via email.



What is Cubed Shipping Weight? (lb3)

Cubed shipping weight is not the same as product weight. Shipping companies do not use the actual product weight. They use a formula to determine the amount of space the package occupies in their trucks when its packed inside a box for shipping, known as dimensional or cubed shipping weight. Product pages will display shipping weight (lb3) and invoice summaries indicate shipping carton dimensions and cubed shipping weights. A package is often placed inside a larger box to protect it during transport upon shipment, increasing the size of cubed shipping weight.

To Calculate Dimensional Weight (lb3) (example from Purolator)
Measure an item in its shipping carton. (Length - Width - Height).
then multiply (Length x Width x Height) and divide that result by 172.80 to get the dimensional weight (cubed weight) for ground shipments.  Air shipments use a slightly different formula.

Example 1
Acoustic Guitar unboxed =7lbs actual weight
Acoustic Guitar boxed in factory carton =12lbs actual weight
Acoustic Guitar boxed in factory carton plus outer shipping carton =15lbs actual weight

Shipping dimensions with outer carton = 51" x 21" x 9"

Using the formula for ground shipments.
(51x21x9)divided by 172.80 = 56lbs cubed (dimensional weight)

The guitar only weighs 7lbs In this example but scales at a whopping 56lbs or eight times higher than the weight of the guitar when boxed for shipment.

Example 2
Guitar pedal unboxed =0.25lb actual weight
Guitar Pedal boxed in factory carton =0.50lb actual weight.
Guitar pedal boxed inside factory carton plus outer shipping carton =1lb actual weight

Shipping dimensions with outer carton = 11" x 11" x 7"

Using the formula for ground shipments.
(11x11x7) divided by 172.80 = 5lbs cubed (dimensional weight)

The pedal only weighs 1/2lb in this example but scales at 5lbs or ten times higher than the pedals weight when scaled for shipment.

Bus Parcel - Super fast overnight service to many parts of Ontario and Quebec. Items must be picked up at the local bus station but if you need it really fast it is a great option and is often used by courier companies themselves to transfer packages between cities and towns. Please call our retail center to utilize this option - BPX is not available online.

Less Than Load (LTL) Trucking - Designed for large shipments. "less than load" means that items will be shipped on a skid or pallette by transport truck. We use a variety of companies for this service. Most of these orders are designed for commercial deliveries with a loading dock. If you order big heavy stuff it will likely be shipped via LTL service. Insurance is limited to 1.00 per pound in most cases. Tailgate fees of up to $200 may be applied on top of regular shipment charges if no loading dock is available. Residential Address delivery fee and appointment fees may also apply. Very large PA speakers, Pianos, and big bulky items may require this option.


NOTE: Some items may be shipped from a distribution center (drop ship) with potential upgrades to Purolator, Fedex, Canpar, Loomis, DHL, UPS or other premium shipping services at no additional cost to you...however there may be delays in providing up to date tracking as these warehouses can only provide updates to us every 48 hours not including weekends.

We will deduct all discounted shipping charges and allowances at actual cost from your credited value in the event of a product return or refused shipment.  Furthermore, items that have received freight discounts will be charged back against credited values for the difference between actual costs and originally billed amounts at time of ordering.

Quality assurance guarantee

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase from Acclaim Sound and Lighting, return it to us within 30 days of the invoice date for a refund or exchange for full merchandise value. We accept returns and exchanges within 30 calendar days from the date of purchase for unopened product(s) in original condition and packaging. 
We will even help you to send it back via our shipping providers, reducing your return costs.

Damaged or defective items must be reported to us within 10 business days (not including weekends).  Let us know immediately by phone or email and ensure to keep all packaging! Our team will follow up with you during business hours to investigate and determine a rapid solution.

If you require a return:
1. Call 1(888)472-0070 or 1(705)472-0070 for a return authorization number.  Once the RA number is provided, please include this number in black marker on the exterior shipping box.  It must be clearly visible for our warehouse team.  Items returned without an RA number may get refused as our team will not be able to identify the package without this important information.

2. Re-package the item in new condition: please double box item and include its original packaging (all inserts, plastic bags, manuals and accessories) to send back.  The customer must pay the return shipping cost.

3. Please ensure to remove or strikeout any existing ship labels

4. Please do not use duct tape when returning packages. Clear box tape is ideal to avoid damage to your packaging.

5. Factory Sealed Products in new condition will receive an exchange or refund for the full merchandise value. We deduct free shipping and discounted shipping offer amounts from your credited value.  Items deemed as a special order are subject to a minimum restocking fee if returned for any reason.  Items shipped to the USA do not qualify for this offer.

6. Opened non-defective product returns and exchanges are subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee, and up to 25% restocking fee depending on Manufacturer. We will deduct free and discounted shipping offer amounts from your credited value. Items with damaged or missing boxes, accessories or manuals are subject to additional costs levied per item.  Ask your sales representative if you are unsure how these fees may apply to your return.

Return Exceptions: The products below may not be returned for any reason unless defective whereby a replacement or substitution may be provided.

  • Cartridges and styli
  • Computer software and items bundled with computer software may not be returned if factory seal is broken on master packaging. No returns on computer software & licenses, opened video games, and opened DVD movies. Due to copyright laws, you may exchange these items for the same title if the original is defective.

  • microphones and wireless microphones if packaging has been opened (due to sanitary reasons)
  • pickups and related parts items related to musical instruments unless defective.
  • electronic repair parts, recone kits, speaker components such as drivers, tweeters.
  • fog, bubble, haze or snow juice

Risk of Loss
Risk of loss and title for items purchased from Acclaim-music.com pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.  If these items cross an internation border, then the risk of loss and title passes to you once they clear customs.  We provide 100% free insurance on orders paid by interac shipped inside Canada.  We offer $100.00 of insured value for other payment types. 

Returns, Refunds and Title
Acclaim-music.com does not take title to returned items until the item arrives at our warehouse or distribution centre. We may issue refunds at our discretion without requiring a return.  In this case, Acclaim-music.com does not take title to the refunded item.

PAYMENT METHODS ACCEPTED

  • Interac / Debit Online: Use your Interac debit card to pay for purchases in-store. Interac Online is no longer available, however Interac Email Money transfer is accepted in checkout (see below).  Tap n go Interac service is available in our retail locations. Available to most Canadian Banks and Credit unions. Note: Interac Debit is quite different than Visa Debit or MasterCard Debit...see credit card section below.
  • Interac Email Money Transfers: -  We accept Interac Email Transfer both online and in-store. To use the Interac Email Transfer, please process your order then visit your online banking service to see if they have a link for Interac transfer or Send Money Online. We can assist you in processing this option if required. Instructions will be provided via email for EMT payments. Payments up 10k can now be handled via Interac.
  • PayPal:  We accept PayPal payments in store and online. We will ship to all Verified Accounts within Canada and the USA. If you are non verified or need to ship to a different address select Interac Email Money Transfer as your payment method (Canada only). If you are non verified in the USA choose Visa, Visa Debit, MC, Amex or other payment type such as wire transfer. We can assist if needed but we are not allowed to ship to a "non-verified" address under PayPal rules.

  • Wire Transfers - We accept telephone wire transfers for international customers and large dollar purchases. Please call us toll Free at 1(888)472-0070 for our commercial account information which is required to process wire transfers.
  • Layaway:  Available in store only - Speak to a manager and we can arrange a layaway for your items.  Up to 90 day terms with no fees.  Great for holiday buying or when you want to ensure that important item is not out of stock when you need it.
  • Credit Cards - CANADA and the USA- Visa, MasterCard, American ExpressOur retail locations offer Tap-and-go for Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards. We accept Visa, Visa Debit, Master Card, Master Card Debit, and American Express with verifiable shipping addresses for online orders. Orders are only sent to the billing address or to registered alternate addresses of the cardholder for your protection.  If you need your order shipped to a different address, please ensure the address is registered with your bank or modify your payment method to Interac Email Money Transfer or Wire Transfer which allows us to ship to any address in North America. 
    • Credit card orders for persons living in apartment buildings are shipped to the nearest courier depot for your protection unless you have made alternate delivery arrangements with us in advance.
  • Credit Cards - INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS Outside of Canada and the USA - International credit card systems are quite different than offered in North America.  At this time, we do not accept credit cards from outside of Canada and the USA. We are very sorry for any inconvenience. If you wish to place an order please select the Wire transfer option at checkout. You must fully prepay the total amount of the product(s), including shipping, and you must have a verified shipping address. All orders are shipped FOB our warehouse and items may be subject to import duties, taxes or tariffs when they arrive at your destination. Insurance is optional but highly recommended.   • Cheques & Money Orders: We accept preprinted personal and business cheques from Canadian customers for online orders and retail purchases.  Items can be picked up or will ship upon banking system clearance.  This process takes a minimum of ten business days and can take up to 14 business days.  Please consider a different payment method if you need your order quickly.  Orders cannot be released until we have processed your cheque and observed the waiting period.  To use this method online ..Submit your order and checkout. Then, mail your cheque with a copy of your order to our business address. (address is located at the bottom of all website pages) Make Cheques or Money Orders Payable to Acclaim Sound and Lighting.
  • Purchase Orders - For the convenience of our larger business, institutional and government customers, purchase orders will be accepted on a credit approval basis. To qualify for credit approval, you must call our Toll Free Number 1 888 472 0070 to request a credit application. Purchase Orders can be placed by phone or email providing a confirming emailed copy of the purchase order is received. Minimum $500 for all PO's.
