The Tama Superstar Classic 5-Piece Drum Set Shell Pack harkens back to the 70s and 80s when Superstars were on stages all across the country.
Fully maple shells (6-ply snare/toms, 8-ply bass) create a warm, naturally balanced timbre that fits well in virtually any genre of music.
This configuration is standard for most drummers, with enough drums to play really interesting grooves and fills in all genres while not taking up all that much room. Plus you have less stuff to lug around.
Low-mass single lugs on all the shells minimize contact, allowing the wood to breathe more and resonant fully. The Star-Mount system on the mounted toms allows them to hang in the air without drilling a mount into the shell - further increasing shell resonance.
Featuring a matching snare drum and bass hoops, this mid-level fits the bill quite nicely for drummers looking for a reasonably priced kit that they can take on the road in pride.
